ANKARA (AA) - A total solar eclipse Tuesday will turn the day into darkness in South American countries Chile and Argentina.
Most of the 6,000-mile (9.656 kilometers) long band in the Pacific Ocean will witness the phenomenon as the Moon blocking the light of the Sun briefly.
NASA announced that the natural event is expected to last a total of four minutes and 33 seconds.
The eclipse will begin in the Pacific Ocean at 1701 GMT and a 95-mile (153 km)-wide band of total darkness is set to reach Chile's coast at 2038 GMT, then cross to southeastern Argentina, according to France 24.
NASA and the European Southern Observatory will also livestream the eclipse.
The next total solar eclipse will be observed in South Pacific, Chile and Argentina in Dec. 14, 2020.
