China bans export to 28 US defense contractors over Taiwan arms sales

10 companies also added to list of ‘unreliable’ entities as part of efforts to protect national security, says China's Ministry of Commerce

ISTANBUL (AA) – China on Thursday halted exports of dual-use products to 28 US defense contractors and added 10 of them to its “unreliable” entities list due to Washington's arms sales to Taiwan.

The action is aimed at protecting national security while also meeting international obligations, including non-proliferation, China's Ministry of Commerce said in a statement.

The list includes companies such as General Dynamics, Boeing Defense, Space & Security, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon Missiles & Defense.

These firms were also sanctioned by the Foreign Ministry in Beijing last year in response to US arms sales to Taiwan.

According to the ministry, the decision was made per Chinese export control laws.
