ISTANBUL (AA) – China and the EU trade officials held a China-EU export control mechanism meeting in Brussels, from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1, Beijing’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said on Monday.
According to Global Times, MOFCOM said that the two sides held an “in-depth and constructive exchange of views” on their respective concerns in the area of export control.
Jiang Qianliang, director general of the Bureau of Industry, Security, Import and Export Control of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, and Denis Redonnet, deputy director-general in the Directorate General for Trade in the European Commission, held the dialogue.
During the meeting, both parties agreed to continue their communication and coordination to ensure the stability and smooth operation of China-EU industrial and supply chains.
This meeting followed a virtual discussion on Oct. 21 between China's Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maros Sefcovic.
During that conversation, they engaged in detailed discussions on important China-EU economic and trade matters, such as export controls and the EU's anti-subsidy investigation into Chinese electric vehicles, according to MOFCOM.
