China launches remote sensing satellite
Yaogan-50 01 to be used for national land surveys, crop yield estimation, disaster prevention, mitigation

ISTANBUL (AA) - China sent a remote sensing satellite into space on Tuesday, according to state-run news agency Xinhua.
The Yaogan-50 01 was launched at 10.16 pm local time (1416GMT) on a modified version of the Long March-6 rocket and entered its pre-planned orbit.
The satellite will be used for national land surveys, crop yield estimation and disaster prevention and mitigation.
The launch was China's first successful orbital launch of 2026.
