Chris Paul moves to No. 3 on NBA's all-time assist list

36-year-old reaches 10,346 total assists, just behind John Stockton and Jason Kidd

ANKARA (AA) - Phoenix Suns' Chris Paul moved to No. 3 on NBA's all-time assist list on Wednesday, just behind John Stockton and Jason Kidd.

The 36-year-old made 18 assists during the game with New Orleans Pelicans at the Footprint Center, Phoenix, reaching 10,346 assists. The Suns beat Pelicans 112-100.

Besides being the player with the most assists among active NBA players, he is also the only player in history to reach 20,000 career points and 10,000 assists. The 11-time All-Star is the 47th player to pass the 20,000-point mark.

Stockton has 15,806 assists, while Kidd produced 12,091 assists.

Paul, who joined the Suns in 2020, has also played for the New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, and Oklahoma City Thunder.

“It means a lot,” Paul said. “I’m grateful and I thank God for this opportunity. Not just to be on this team or still in the league, but just to be playing. I don’t take that for granted.”
