Conflicts in Donetsk region ‘pure hell’: Ukrainian president

‘As of this evening, the defense forces have gained control of more than 60 settlements of Kherson district,’ says Volodymr Zelenskyy

KYIV, Ukraine (AA) - The president of Ukraine said Saturday that conflicts in the Donetsk region is “pure hell.”

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces has entered Kherson, where Russian troops retreated, and people welcomed them with joy.

“Today we all experience joy together. I don't know if there is a single person who hasn't watched the footage of our people in Kherson meeting with the Ukrainian defenders,” Zelenskyy said in a video message on his official Telegram channel.

“As of this evening, the defense forces have gained control of more than 60 settlements of Kherson district. Police started security measures,” he added.

He said after the withdrawal of Russian forces, many unexploded mines, bullets and ammunition remained in the region, Zelenskiy but mine clearance activities have been started by experts.
