DUBROVNIK, Croatia (AA) - Croatia hosted an international conference Tuesday on the media's role in the sustainable development of the Mediterranean.
The conference was organized by Croatian news agency HINA and attended by members of the Alliance of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN).
It was also attended by many ecology experts as well as representatives from news agencies such as Anadolu Agency's Project Management Coordinator Oguz Karakas and Strategic Communications and Foreign Relations Senior Specialist Eren Erciyas.
Croatia’s Culture and Media Minister Nina Obuljen-Korzinek told Anadolu Agency on the sidelines of the conference that she was happy to see that the Mediterranean news agencies were "so connected" to each other.
Branka Gabriela Vojvodic, general director of HINA news agency, said they are committed to the topics of sustainability, ecology, climate and environment.
Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Frankovic emphasized that there should be a middle way between development and stability and noted that local governments are also important in terms of sustainability.
