ANKARA (AA) – The Czech Republic's Foreign Ministry said Wednesday that it has resumed activities at its Ukrainian Embassy in that country’s capital of Kyiv.
The ministry shared a photograph on Twitter of the raising of the Czechia flag at the embassy.
"The flag is flying again above the Czech Embassy in Kyiv," it wrote. "Our diplomats are back. This is one of the many steps we are taking to show our support for Ukraine. Czechia will always stand with Ukraine.”
Several countries, including the US, Israel, the Netherlands and Hungary have temporarily relocated their embassies from Kyiv to the western city of Lviv because of the Russia-Ukraine war.
At least 1,932 civilians have been killed and 2,589 injured in Ukraine since the start of the war, according to UN estimates, with the true figure feared to be much higher.
More than 4.6 million Ukrainians have fled to other countries, with over 7 million more internally displaced, said the UN refugee agency.
