Israeli army also on Friday reissued evacuation warnings to residents of seven neighborhoods in eastern Gaza City, threatening military strikes in those areas.
Reactions and developments on new Egyptian proposal for ceasefire between Israel and Hamas
Developments and reactions regarding a new Egyptian ceasefire proposal aimed at ending the ongoing Israeli devastating onslaught against the Gaza Strip.
Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said on Friday Egyptian and Qatari efforts are continuing on a daily basis to broker a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
On Thursday evening, Israeli media reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed a new Egyptian proposal for a prisoner exchange with Hamas during a briefing session that included Israel’s negotiation team and heads of security agencies.
According to Channel 12 sources, the Egyptian proposal includes “the release of eight living Israeli hostages in exchange for a 50-day ceasefire.”
Hamas group is yet to comment on the leaked proposal.
