Brice Oligui Nguema will be inaugurated Saturday as Gabon's president for a seven-year term at a ceremony in the capital Libreville following the April 12 presidential election.
Nguema won the election with 94.85% of the vote, the first since the 2023 military coup. He has served as the transition president since the coup that ousted former President Ali Bongo ended the 56-year Bongo dynasty in the oil-producing Central African nation.
