Regional as well as global leaders, including Trump, his counterparts from South Africa, Brazil and South Korea, are among guests during the three-day summit. The bloc will have internal as well as external summits with the US, Japan, among others. It officially admitted Timor-Leste as its 11th member on Sunday.

US President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim attend signing of Cambodia and Thailand peace accord on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit. Trump and Anwar will also have a separate bilateral meeting.

China, US continue trade talks

China and the US hold final day of their fifth round of trade talks in Kuala Lumpur. US delegation is led by the Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and the Chinese side is headed by Vice Premier He Lifeng. The talks set stage for summit between the US and Chinese presidents in South Korea next week.
