Dozens of migrants killed in bus crash in Afghanistan

ISTANBUL (AA) - A deadly bus crash on the Herat-Islam Qala highway with a cargo truck and motorcycle resulted in the deaths of dozens of deported migrants from Iran late Tuesday, according to an official.

The large bus carrying migrants in western Herat province collided with a motorcycle and the Mazda truck, Ahmadullah Muttaqi, information and culture director of the province, wrote on US social media company X.

Sources in Herat told TOLOnews that the bus, which was carrying deportees from the Islam Qala border toward Kabul, caught fire after the collision.

Officials in Herat have yet to issue a statement.
