Driver rams CarMax dealership in California, injuring 8

Authorities say suspect involved in dispute about his vehicle appraisal fled but was later arrested

WASHINGTON (AA) - Eight people were injured Saturday when a driver rammed into a CarMax dealership in Inglewood, California, according to authorities.

NBC Los Angeles reported that the injured included employees and customers at the used car retailer.

The news outlet, citing Inglewood police, said a customer exited the building following a dispute and intentionally drove into the dealership.

The driver fled the scene, but CarMax later confirmed his arrest. The company stated that the incident stemmed from a dispute about his vehicle appraisal.

Two people were critically injured, while six sustained minor injuries, ranging from body aches to head wounds, according to LA County Fire Department officials.

An investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department is underway.
