Egypt raises fuel prices for 3rd time this year

ANKARA (AA) – The Egyptian government on Wednesday raised fuel prices in the local market for the third time this year.

Prices of 80-octane, 92-octane petrol and diesel rose by 0.50 Egyptian pound ($0.03) while 95-octane petrol rose by one pound ($0.06), the Fuel Automatic Pricing Committee of the Ministry of Petroleum said in a statement.

Price changes saw 80-octane and 92-octane petrol increase to 8 pounds ($0.42) and 9.25 pounds ($0.49) per liter respectively, while diesel increased to 7.25 pounds ($0.38).

This is the third time Egypt’s fuel prices increased in 2022, by 0.25 pound ($0.013) in February and April.
