Elon Musk announces email audit for federal employees

ISTANBUL (AA) - Federal employees will soon receive an email requiring them to detail their work from the past week, with failure to respond being treated as a resignation, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk announced Saturday on X.

The measure is part of the Trump administration’s broader effort to streamline government operations and cut public spending.

As part of this initiative, the administration introduced the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has already led to thousands of layoffs across various federal agencies.

Musk, a billionaire and key Trump ally, has been instrumental in pushing for greater efficiency in government operations.
