England extend lead at top of UEFA rankings

England are top of UEFA Country Coefficients ahead of 2nd-place Spain with 101.998

ISTANBUL (AA) - England remained on top of the UEFA ranking list with 101.998 points.

England are represented by seven teams, including Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Tottenham in the Champions League, Arsenal and Manchester United in Europa League, and West Ham United in Conference League.

Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, and West Ham United won their groups while Liverpool and Manchester United completed their group stages as runners-up.

Spain currently have one Champions League team as Real Madrid advanced to the Round of 16.

Atletico Madrid, who were at the bottom of the Champions League Group B were eliminated from European football.

Sevilla and Barcelona dropped into Europa League after a third-place finish in their groups. Real Betis and Real Sociedad won their Europa League groups to qualify for the last 16.

Also, Villarreal advanced to the Round of 16 with a first-place finish in Conference League Group C.

Spain received 87.427, followed by Germany with 78.356, and Italy had 71.069 points.

Meanwhile, each win is worth two coefficient points, with draws getting one point.

- Türkiye jump to 12th place

Türkiye reached 12th place in the UEFA Country Coefficients after big wins in Europa and Conference leagues.

The jump was the result of four wins from Fenerbahce, Trabzonspor, Medipol Basaksehir, and Demir Grup Sivasspor on Thursday.

Europa League Group B winners Fenerbahce booked their last 16 ticket after defeating Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 on road.

In Conference League, Medipol Basaksehir and Demir Grup Sivasspor won their respective groups to qualify for the last 16.

Despite a win over Ferencvaros, Trabzonspor dropped into Conference League with a third-place finish one point behind the Hungarian team.

The five bonus points were earned by Group B leaders Fenerbahce for bagging the slot. Medipol Basaksehir and Demir Grup Sivasspor were also given two bonus points after they clinched the first spot in their groups.

Türkiye, who began the season in the 20th spot, reached 29.500 points in the country coefficients.
