Ethiopian premier meets Sudan’s military council leader

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (AA) - Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Tuesday met with the head of the Sudan’s Transitional Military Council (TMC) Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Burhan.

"General Abdel Fattah recognized Ethiopia as a close ally of Sudan and asked the prime minister to share his advice on key concerns raised," the office of the prime minister said in a statement without giving further details.

Abiy assured Burhan of Ethiopia’s support with a commitment to non-interference, the statement said.

The prime minister advised the Sudanese leadership to be inclusive in the transitional process, according to the statement.
