EuroLeague: Anadolu Efes eye Maccabi win to lift morale

Title contenders Anadolu Efes want to cheer up as their 8-game winning streak ended by CSKA Moscow last week

ANKARA (AA) – Turkish basketball giants Anadolu Efes are seeking a win against the Israeli club Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv on Thursday after last week’s loss in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Anadolu Efes will face Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv in the round of 16 game, which will tip off at 1730GMT in Istanbul.

The Turkish club eyes a win for Thursday's match to recover a 81-80 loss against the CSKA Moscow last week, which snapped Efes' eight-game winning streak in the regular season.

Anadolu Efes fell in the third place from atop of the standings with 12-3 win/loss record.

The 2014 EuroLeague winners, Maccabi FOX have five-game-winning streak to gain the fourth spot with 11 wins and 4 losses.

Spanish basketball powerhouse Barcelona beat the Israeli club 96-73 in the round of 10 game at home in November, which was the last defeat of Maccabi FOX in the EuroLeague.

On Thursday, the Navy-Whites will play their 674th European game with their 376 wins and 297 losses in the European campaign.

Anadolu Efes and Maccabi FOX will meet for the 28th time in their history while Anadolu Efes won 15 of the 27 games so far.
