European exchanges close higher, gain around 1%

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock markets closed higher Monday, as exchanges gained around 1%.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose 4.88 points, or 1.07%, to finish at 462.58.

The UK's FTSE 100 rose 56 points, or 0.72%, to end the session at 7,935. Germany's DAX 30 added 171 points, or 1.13%, to 15,381.

France's CAC 40, meanwhile, climbed 108 points, or 1.51%, to close at 7,295.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the best performer of the day, soaring 457 points, or 1.7%, to 27,444.

Spain's IBEX 35 gained 112 points, or 1.23%, to end the day at 9,314.
