Eurozone annual inflation rate continues to rise in April
Inflation at 7.5% in April, up from 1.6% a year ago

ISTANBUL (AA) - Eurozone's annual inflation rate was at 7.5% in April, up from 7.4% in March and 1.6% in April 2021, according to preliminary official figures on Friday.
Energy prices were the largest contributor to the inflation rate in April, followed by food-alcohol-tobacco, non-energy industrial goods and services.
Among EA19 countries, the largest annual inflation was posted by Estonia with 19%, followed by Luxembourg 16.6% and Latvia 13.2% in April.
Malta (4.9%), France (5.4%) and Finland (5.9%) saw the lowest rates.
In another preliminary data, Eurostat said eurozone's GDP increased by 5% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022.
The GDP was also up by 5.2% in the EU over the same period.
