Eurozone industrial production down 1.4% in December 2025

ISTANBUL (AA) - Industrial production contracted by 1.4% in the euro area and 0.8% in the EU month-on-month in December 2025, Eurostat announced on Monday.

Highest monthly drops were seen in Slovakia with 4.9%, Germany with 2.9% and Spain with 2.6%, the 27-member bloc's statistical authority stated.

The highest increases were observed in Luxembourg (6.4%), Sweden (4.4%) and Malta (4.2%), it added.

In eurozone, industrial production decreased for intermediate goods by 0.1%, energy by 0.3%, capital goods by 1.9%, non-durable consumer goods by 0.3%, while increased for durable consumer goods by 0.2%.

In the EU, industrial production increased for intermediate goods by 0.1%, durable consumer goods by 0.5%, non-durable consumer goods by 0.6%, while dropped for energy by 0.4%, capital goods by 1.4%,.

On a yearly basis, industrial production posted an increase of 1.2% for the euro area and 1.4% for the EU.
