Explosion injures 11 in Philippine capital
Blast comes on eve of high-profile ASEAN summit

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (AA) - At least 11 people were injured in an explosion late Friday night along Quezon Boulevard in the Philippine capital Manila.
The explosion occurred at around 10:49 p.m. on the eve of an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit, according to a GMA's DZBB radio station report.
The 30th summit formally opens on Saturday; the heads of all ASEAN member states are participating.
Chief Insp. John Guiagui of the Eastern Police District confirmed "a number of people" had been hurt in the blast.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing two men on a motorcycle throwing an explosive in the area, National Capital Region Police Office regional chief Director Oscar Albayalde told reporters in Manila.
Police are continuing their investigation.
