Explosion rocks military site near Aleppo International Airport in northern Syria

DAMASCUS/ISTANBUL (AA) - An explosion occurred on Friday at a military site near Aleppo International Airport in northern Syria.

Columns of smoke rose at the explosion site, quickly covering the skies over some areas of Aleppo city, according to an Anadolu correspondent.

The explosion caused widespread concern in Aleppo.

Syrian authorities have not yet issued a statement regarding the blast.
