Fenerbahce set to sign Brazilian defender Gustavo Henrique

29-year-old expected to arrive in Istanbul for detailed talks, says Turkish club

ANKARA (AA) - Fenerbahce on Tuesday said they are set to acquire Brazilian central defender Gustavo Henrique from Flamengo.

In a statement on Twitter, the Turkish football club said they agreed with Henrique and the Brazilian team on the move.

The 29-year-old will soon arrive in Istanbul for detailed talks, the statement added.

Henrique is a Flamengo player since 2020. He helped Flamengo win the 2020 Brazilian league title and the Recopa Sudamericana in the same year.

The Recopa Sudamericana is an annual contest between the champions of the previous year's top-tier Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana, the second-most prestigious club competition in South America.

Henrique scored eight goals in 81 appearances for Flamengo. Before Flamengo, he played for Brazilian club Santos.
