ANKARA (AA) - The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) dismissed Türkiye's complaint regarding Sunday's EuroBasket 2022 game with Georgia.

Following the game, the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) submitted a protest regarding a timekeeping operations error.

The Turkish side complained that the game clock ran for 22 seconds during the 4th quarter, while it was showing 4:48, went through 4:26 while the ball was not moving.

After reviewing all material and evidence submitted, FIBA dismissed the complaint, according to a statement.

The judge of the disciplinary panel concluded that while there was indeed a timekeeping operation error in the fourth quarter of the game, the Turkish side failed to establish in their protest that had it not been for the error, a different result would have materialized.

FIBA also added that an investigation is currently ongoing regarding the allegations from both federations in relation to actions in the team areas of the venue, involving players and delegation members.

On Monday, Omer Onan, general coordinator of the TBF, said FIBA must produce all the “minute by minute” footage from the corridors around the Türkiye-Georgia 2022 EuroBasket Group A match played in Tbilisi on Sunday, or the Turkish team will “leave the tournament."

Near the end of the game, Türkiye's Furkan Korkmaz was disqualified for arguing. On the way to the locker room, Korkmaz and other Turkish players were attacked by some Georgian players and police, the Turkish side claims.
