Five PKK terrorists killed in SE Turkey

HAKKARI (AA) – Turkish security forces killed five PKK terrorists on Thursday in the country’s southeastern Hakkari province, the local governorship has said.

“Turkish gendarme officers carried out an operation against terrorists who were about to attack in Agacdibi and Ogul villages of the province,” read a statement issued by the governorship.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, more than 600 security personnel have been martyred and more than 7,000 PKK terrorists have been killed.
