ANKARA (AA) - Georgia thanked the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) for technical support it provided for a conference hall where Veterans Day activities were held.

According to a statement by TIKA, several receptions were held by the State Service of Veterans Affairs in the Georgian cities of Gori, Batum, Meskheti and Tbilisi.

The Turkish agency provided a sound and video system together with a simultaneous translation unit to a 120-people hall in Tbilisi.

Maya Tskitishvili, vice prime minister and minister of regional development and infrastructure of Georgia; Levan Izoria, defense minister; Vladimer Imnadze, director of the State Service of Veterans Affairs of Georgia; and some veterans and their families attended the reception.

“I would like to thank TIKA in the presence of everyone one more time as it provided technical equipment of this hall,” Imnadze said at the event.

Established in 1992, Turkey's government-run aid agency is responsible for implementing Turkey's developmental cooperation policies overseas.

The agency carries out development cooperation activities in 170 countries via its 58 program coordination offices in 56 countries across five continents.
