Germany's industrial production up 1.2% in May

ISTANBUL (AA) - Germany's industrial production increased 1.2% month-on-month in May, federal statistical authority Destatis said on Monday.

The positive development of production was attributable to the growth observed in the automotive industry and in energy production, Destatis said.

The increase in production in the pharmaceutical industry also had a positive impact on the overall result.

Meanwhile, the decrease in the construction industry had a negative impact.

On a yearly basis, industrial production rose by 1% in May.
