Germany's industrial production up in October

ISTANBUL (AA) - Germany's industrial production was up 1.8% year-on-year and 0.8% month-on-month in October, the federal statistical authority announced on Monday.

This stemmed mainly from the increase in production seen in the construction industry, Destatis said.

The increases registered in the manufacture of machinery and equipment and in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products also made a significant contribution to the overall result.

By contrast, the decline in production in the automotive industry, as an important sector, had a negative impact.

In October, production in industry excluding energy and construction was up 1.5% from September 2025 after seasonal and calendar adjustment.

Within the industry, increases were reported in all three major groups – capital goods, consumer goods, and intermediate goods.
