Greece, Egypt sign strategic partnership agreement
It confirms shared desire to strengthen bilateral ties, says Greek Premier Mitsotakis at joint news conference with visiting Egyptian President el-Sisi following conclusion of 1st Greece-Egypt High-level Cooperation Council

ATHENS (AA) - Greece and Egypt on Wednesday signed a strategic partnership agreement in Athens.
Following the conclusion of the 1st Greece-Egypt High-level Cooperation Council, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said at a joint news conference with visiting Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi that the declaration confirms a shared desire to strengthen bilateral ties.
“The regular consultations that were agreed upon and the memorandums of cooperation that were signed open important new paths, from shipping and the economy to education, culture, and bilateral trade, making our relations stronger,” he explained.
Mitsotakis praised Cairo's efforts to secure a ceasefire and send humanitarian aid to Gaza.
He underlined that the two-state solution remains the only viable solution to the Palestine-Israel conflict, saying, "Our country is ready to contribute to any initiative that will attempt to promote and strengthen regional stability."
El-Sisi, for his part, praised the two countries' bilateral ties and stressed Cairo's desire to strengthen joint cooperation with Greece in the economic, trade, tourism, and cultural sectors, as well as energy, transportation, and electrical interconnection.
