Greek news agency condemns Israeli attack on AA office

ANKARA (AA) - The Association of the Balkan News Agencies - Southeast Europe (ABNA-SE) and Athens News Agency has condemned an Israeli attack on Anadolu Agency office in the Gaza Strip on Saturday.

“We condemn the attack against Anadolu office in the West Bank,” Secretary General of ABNA-SE and President of Athens News Agency, Michalis Psilos said in a statement.

“It’s urgent to defend press freedom against such attacks,” Psilos said.

“I would like to express my support to Anadolu Agency’s Director General Senol Kazanci vis a vis this attack,” he added.

Israeli warplanes hit the building with at least five rockets after warning shots, Anadolu Agency’s correspondent in Jerusalem reported.

No injuries or death were reported.

The strikes occurred following reports that two Israeli soldiers had been injured by gunfire near the Gaza-Israel buffer zone on Friday.

At least two Palestinians were killed when Israeli warplanes struck Hamas positions in the blockaded Gaza Strip.
