Gunmaker Canik's wares pull crowds at Turkish tech event Teknofest

ISTANBUL (AA) – Products from Canik, a major Turkish arms manufacturer, garnered great interest at Teknofest, Türkiye’s largest technology and aviation event held last week in the Black Sea city of Samsun.

Canik, one of the main sponsors of this year’s Teknofest, showcased several products that it exports to 69 countries, the company said in a statement.

Its biggest crowd-puller was the Canik M2 QCB (Quick Change Barrel), an anti-aircraft gun that the firm touts as “one of the most combat-proven heavy machine guns in the world.”

“We take part in many events all over the world every year, but it was particularly exciting to show off our products in the city where our brand was born,” said Utku Aral, general manager of SYS, Canik’s parent company that is based in Samsun.

Canik also organized shooting demonstrations at the event, where more than 5,000 people were trained about the safe use of firearms, the statement added.
