Haaland leads Norway to victory in UEFA EURO 2024 qualifiers

Norwegian star nets twice; Ronaldo becomes most international capped men's player of all time

ANKARA (AA) - Erling Haaland led Norway to a 3-1 victory against the Greek Cypriot Administration on Tuesday in a UEFA EURO 2024 qualifiers Group A match at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo.

The Norwegian star found the net in the 56th and 60th minutes, with the first goal coming from a penalty kick.

Forward Ola Solbakken scored the first goal of the match in the 12th minute.

Grigoris Kastanos netted the only goal for his team in the 93rd minute.

The other Group A match on Tuesday, between Scotland and Georgia, was delayed due to adverse weather conditions.

Scotland took the lead in the sixth minute at Hampden Park in Glasgow with a goal by Callum McGregor.

But the match was suspended while water was cleared from the pitch.

The Scottish side went on to beat Georgia 2-0.

Scotland lead Group A with 12 points while Norway are third with 4 points and the Greek Cypriot Administration are in fifth spot with zero points.

Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo won his 200th cap with Portugal in their match on Tuesday against Iceland in Group J, which ended with his team’s 1-0 victory.

The 38-year-old, who netted the winning goal of his team in the 89th minute, continues to break new ground as he was awarded the Guinness World Record for the most international caps by a men's player of all time before the match began.

Portugal lead Group J with 12 points, followed by Slovakia with 10 points, while Iceland are fourth with 3 points in the group.
