Hasan Arat elected new president of Besiktas
64-year-old businessman beats second-placed Serdal Adali to become 35th chairman of Istanbul club

ISTANBUL (AA) - Hasan Arat was elected as the new president of Besiktas at an extraordinary general assembly meeting on Sunday.
The 64-year-old businessman won with 7,271 votes, receiving 2,714 more than second-placed Serdal Adali at the BJK Emlakjet Sports Complex in Istanbul.
Arat has become the 35th chairman of the Istanbul club.
With 100% of the votes counted, Adali took 38.53% of the vote.
