Tribal elder in Faryab province survives 4th attempt on life

KABUL, Afghanistan (AA) - Two men associated with a pro-government tribal leader in northern Afghanistan were killed in a bomb blast on Thursday, an official confirmed.
Mohammad Ibrahim Taynmas, governor of Qurgan district in Faryab province, told Anadolu Agency a driver and a guard of local tribal leader Mohammad Qul lost their life in a remote-controlled IED blast early on Thursday.
The leader was travelling in a car which blew-up in the blast leaving him injured.
Qul is close aide of Vice President Gen. Abdul Rasheed Dostum.
Qul has survived at least four attempts on his life in the past three years.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack.
