Attack targets police vehicle guarding a mosque in Kabul, says interior ministry

KABUL, Afghanistan (AA) - At least three people were killed and 16 others injured on Thursday in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast outside a mosque in the Afghan capital Kabul, a security official said.
Najib Danish, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said the fatalties included two policemen and a civilian.
The blast targeted a police vehicle which was guarding a mosque in the old city area of Chandawal, a Ministry statement said.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack.
On Wednesday, a major rocket attack rocked the international airport in Kabul less than two hours after the arrival of U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis. Up to 40 rockets were fired leaving at least one Afghan woman dead and 11 injured.
