Illegal Israeli settlers set fire to Palestinian vehicle, spray racist graffiti in occupied West Bank

RAMALLAH, Palestine / ISTANBUL (AA) – Illegal Israeli settlers burned a Palestinian vehicle and spray-painted racist Hebrew slogans Monday in the village of Jurish, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, according to witnesses.

A group of extremist settlers raided the village, set a Palestinian-owned car on fire, and vandalized nearby homes with graffiti before withdrawing, residents told Anadolu.

Illegal settler graffiti on Palestinian property often carries racist or threatening messages against Palestinians and Arabs.

According to the official Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, illegal Israeli settlers carried out 7,154 assaults on Palestinians and their properties in the occupied West Bank over the course of two years, which resulted in the death of 36 Palestinians and forced migration of 33 Bedouin communities.

Israeli attacks have escalated across the occupied West Bank since October 2023, killing more than 1,065 Palestinians and injuring nearly 10,000 others, according to Palestinian figures.

In a landmark opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
