India’s Modi hold talks with Malaysian counterpart on sidelines of BRICS Summit
Two leaders discuss cooperation in ‘multilateral arena and regional security,’ says statement

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks Sunday with his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim on the sidelines of the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The two leaders reviewed progress in “bilateral relations between India and Malaysia…including in the areas of trade and investment, defense, education, health care, tourism and people-to-people contacts," said an Indian Foreign Ministry statement
They also discussed cooperation in “the multilateral arena and regional security,” it said.
Modi said during the meeting that “futuristic sectors like IT, renewable energy and infrastructure are those where bilateral ties are growing strongly.”
“Also discussed how to improve investment and trade relations between our nations,” he wrote on X.
