Industrial producer prices up 36.8% in eurozone
Prices rise more than 100% in energy sector year-on-year in March both in euro area, EU

ISTANBUL (AA) – Industrial producer prices rose by 36.8% in the euro area and 36.5% in the EU, official figures showed on Tuesday.
On a monthly basis, the prices rose 5.3% and 5.4%, respectively, according to Eurostat, the bloc's statistical authority.
The main contributor of the price rises was energy, which went up sharply in March due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
"Industrial producer prices in the euro area in March 2022, compared with March 2021, increased by 104.1% in the energy sector, by 22.6% for intermediate goods, by 8.7% for non-durable consumer goods, by 7.9% for durable consumer goods and by 6.5% for capital goods," EuroStat said.
"Prices in total industry excluding energy increased by 13.6%," it added.
In the EU side, the increase was 101.3% in the energy sector in March on a yearly basis.
"The industrial producer prices increased in all member states, with the highest yearly increases being registered in Ireland (+106.1%), Romania (+67.6%) and Denmark (+62.0%)," Eurostat said.
