International art fair Contemporary Istanbul unveils stellar lineup for 17th edition

ANKARA (AA) – Organizers of international art fair Contemporary Istanbul on Wednesday unveiled the participants of this year’s edition.

A total of 66 leading galleries and art initiatives from 22 countries will showcase 1,476 artworks by 558 artists at the event, read a Contemporary Istanbul statement.

The 17th edition of Contemporary Istanbul will be held at Tersane Istanbul, a new venue located in the historical Ottoman-era shipyards on the shores of Golden Horn, between Sept. 17-22.

Top galleries from Europe, Middle East, North America, Africa and Asia are among the participants, including 14 first-time exhibitors from Paris, Bucharest, Dubai, London, Rome, New York and other regions.

Art initiatives from different areas of Türkiye will showcase the country’s vibrant cultural scene, including Are Projects from Antalya; Imalat-Hane, Bursa; Loading, Diyarbakir; Noks Art Space, Istanbul, OMM, Eskisehir; Viable, Istanbul; and Video-IST from Balikesir.

Installations and sculptures by eminent Turkish and international artists will be exhibited at the Yard exhibition, the statement said.

The event also features a panel discussion – Testing the Elasticity of the Art Space – that will focus on “the art spaces of today and tomorrow,” it added.
