ISTANBUL (AA) - Iran launched new strikes against Israel using missiles and drones, the Iranian news agency, IRNA, said early Sunday.
The Israeli Air Force announced shortly after the strikes that it intercepted a drone launched from the east toward Israeli territory when sirens were triggered in Ramat Magshimim and Haspin.
IRNA reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Friday night’s operation was one of the most successful recent missile and drone strikes by its Aerospace Force.
It said it successfully hit 14 strategic military sites in Haifa and Tel Aviv. One of the targets was the Sail Tower in central Haifa, which reportedly houses the offices of AI12 Labs and other defense-related software firms affiliated with Israel’s Ministry of Defense, the report said.
Hostilities broke out June 13 when Israel launched airstrikes on several sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes.
Israeli authorities said at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds injured since then in Iranian missile attacks.
Meanwhile, in Iran, 430 people have been killed and more than 3,500 wounded in the Israeli assault, according to the Iranian Health Ministry.
