Istanbul Airport Europe's busiest hub on August 21-27

Türkiye's Istanbul Airport was the busiest air hub in Europe from Aug. 21 - 27, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu said Wednesday.

Uraloglu said the airport saw an average of 1,525 flights daily last week, citing data from the European Organization for Air Navigation Safety (Eurocontrol).

"Istanbul Airport recorded a growth of 118% among the top 20 busiest airports compared to the pre-pandemic period," he wrote on X.
