Italian foreign minister visits Umayyad Mosque in Damascus

DAMASCUS (AA) - Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani visited the Umayyad Mosque in Syria’s capital Damascus.

Tajani was guided by local authorities during his visit to the mosque.

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani also received a visiting Italian delegation led by Tajani at the People’s Palace in Damascus, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA.

The visit marks a significant step in fostering dialogue and rebuilding ties between the two nations amid ongoing challenges in the region.
