ISTANBUL (AA) - Italy and Ukraine will co-host the “Conference on the Recovery of Ukraine” (URC2025) on July 10-11 in Rome, bringing together around 5,000 participants from across the globe, the Italian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
The conference, to be held at the La Nuvola Convention Center, is “the most important international event dedicated to the recovery, reconstruction, and modernization of Ukraine," according to the statement from the ministry.
The event will include around 100 government delegations, 40 international organizations including major development banks, 2,000 companies, local authorities, civil society representatives, and over 500 accredited journalists.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will welcome heads of state and government on Thursday morning. After a family photo with delegation leaders, she will officially open the plenary session at 10.30 am local time with an address.
“The conference will focus on four main dimensions: business, humanitarian, local and regional recovery, and reforms in Ukraine’s EU accession process,” the statement noted.
“A significant cultural dimension will also be included, with a focus on heritage protection in conflict zones," it added.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani will open the “Ukraine Donors Conference” at 8.30 am local time, a dedicated session on funding Ukraine’s recovery.
He will also launch the Ukraine Recovery Forum, featuring several thematic panels.
"Tajani will meet major Italian companies participating in the conference and hold a full agenda of bilateral meetings with his counterparts,” the ministry said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also arrived in Rome today to take part in the conference.
