Junior doctors in England to stage 72-hour walkout in June
'The Government’s 5% pay increase offer is insult to junior doctors in England,' says British Medical Association

LONDON (AA) - Thousands of junior doctors in England will stage a three-day strike next month due to an ongoing pay dispute, announced their union on Monday.
The British Medical Association (BMA) members will conduct a "third round" of strikes, walking out for a full 72 hours from 7 am on June 14 until 6.59 am on June 17.
In a tweet, the BMA stated, "The Government’s 5% pay increase offer is an insult to junior doctors in England."
Highlighting a 26.1% pay cut for junior doctors since 2008, the union emphasized their demand to be compensated appropriately for their work.
"The Government know this is not a credible offer, it’s a delaying tactic. They’ve left us with no option but to return to the picket lines," said the union.
Junior doctors in England previously went on a 72-hour strike on March 11-13 and held a four-day walkout on April 11-14.
"Junior doctors deserve full pay restoration now – and the goal of this third round of industrial action is to force the Government to put forward a credible offer," added the BMA.
