Karmod develops special polyethylene underground water storage tank
Company also makes polyester underground tanks ranging from 5,000 liters to 100 tons, manager says

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's building company Karmod on Tuesday said it developed a polyethylene water storage tank specifically designed for underground use.
The increasing use of underground water storage tanks led "the creation of this innovative device," the company said in a statement.
Selcuk Kaya, Karmod Plastic's sales manager, said the new tank can also be utilized for rainwater collection and fire water storage in the industrial facilities.
"In recent years, underground products are being preferred for rainwater harvesting and industrial facility fire water storage. Industrial facilities, in particular, can meet their needs by burying water storage tanks underground, thus not reducing their production space,” Kaya said.
Highlighting the durability of the polyethylene tank with a ribbed system under underground conditions, Kaya said: “The special ribs ensure that the tank remains unaffected even when heavy vehicles move over it underground."
He noted the versatile uses of underground liquid storage tanks. "In addition to fire and utility water, these tanks can store chemicals like acids and diesel. They can also be used as septic tanks.”
He added that the newly developed polyethylene underground tank has a capacity of five tons and can be increased by integrating multiple tanks.
Emphasizing that they also produce polyester water tanks for underground storage, Kaya said the company offers both polyethylene and polyester alternatives for underground water tanks.
“Our polyester underground tanks range from 5,000 liters to 100 tons in a single piece. Our large-capacity underground water tanks are widely preferred in hotels, social facilities, and city water network settling stations,” he added.
