ISTANBUL (AA) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Tuesday condemned Israel’s strike in the Qatari capital Doha that targeted leaders of the Palestinian group Hamas.
Tokayev’s condemnation was announced in a statement by the Kazakh presidential press service Akorda on Telegram.
“Whatever the goals may be, these actions are unacceptable, since they clearly violate the sovereign rights of the Qatari state and are contrary to the principles of international law,” the statement said.
An Israeli military spokesman said the army conducted a “precise strike” targeting Hamas' senior leadership, without specifying the location.
The Israeli premier's office said the operation against Hamas was "wholly independent," adding: "Israel initiated it, Israel conducted it, and Israel takes full responsibility."
Qatar strongly condemned the Israeli strike, calling it a “blatant violation of international law.”
