MOSCOW (AA) -Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Tokayev said on Saturday that he sees Myanmar leader Min Aung Hlaing's working visit to Astana as an opportunity to establish bilateral cooperation.
Tokayev opened the meeting by saying Myanmar has a unique culture, distinct traditions, and an important geostrategic location.
He pointed out that Kazakhstan and Myanmar are both located at the intersection of major global transportation routes.
Tokayev said Kazakhstan is a key Eurasian transit hub, actively participating in the megaproject One Belt, One Road, and developing transportation corridors such as the North-South and Middle Corridors.
The two leaders stressed the importance of improving transport connectivity between their countries, as this will help to strengthen trade and economic ties.
