LA Lakers expected to part ways with coach Frank Vogel

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to part ways with head coach Frank Vogel, an NBA insider confirmed on Monday.

"Frank Vogel has coached his final game for the Lakers, a decision that’s expected to be shared with him as soon as Monday," Adrian Wojnarowski said on Twitter.

"Lakers’ search expected to be lengthy and expansive with no clear initial frontrunner," he added.

Finishing the season with a 33-49 win/loss record in the 11th place, the Lakers were already eliminated from play-in tournament contention after their loss to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.

Vogel, 48, who led the Lakers to the NBA title in 2020 inked a three-year deal in 2019 and got a one-year extension through 2022-23 this past offseason.
