ISTANBUL (AA) - At least four people have died and eight remain missing after torrential rains triggered a landslide in northern China on Monday, displacing hundreds, state media reported.
The landslide resulting in casualties struck a village in Luanping County, which is in northern Hebei province.
In Beijing, particularly in the Taishitun township, Miyun District, heavy rainfall triggered flash floods that swept away multiple vehicles from residential neighborhoods.
Authorities launched relief and rescue operations and firefighters rescued several people in the region.
Northern China has witnessed record rains in recent years, causing extensive damage to infrastructure and properties.
Reports coming from Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces indicate that roads and farmland were inundated.
